Antonio Alanís is an artist and educator living in Durham, North Carolina. He holds a B.A in Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Masters of Arts in Education from Wake Forest University. His immigrant background, personal history, and education inspired him to explore themes such as social justice, identity, and immigration in North Carolina. He believes that the visual arts are an integral part of promoting cultural awareness about Hispanic/Latinx people in the United States.
