• Description

  Mx. Liberty is the first of several attempts to be made in taking American Iconography and incorporating as many identities as there are living on this landmass we call the United States. Focusing on specific elements of Lady Liberty, identities of people’s nationalities (represented as flags from other countries), BIPOC, and the LGBT+ Communities are incorporated through her skin, hair, and dress, positioning all women of all identities in Glamor, Dignity, and Respect. Mx. Liberty is the first series in several series in this larger conversation of representation and resemble freedom personified in feminine form. It is intended to use this icon to represent all femmes. An icon to represent the same concept but in masculine and Non-Binary form is currently being researched.
