About #falloffreedom

Fall of Freedom is a national arts initiative launching November 21–22, 2025, that calls upon artists, cultural institutions, and communities to unite in a collective stand against the rise of authoritarianism and threats to democratic values in the United States. In response to escalating attacks on free expression, civil liberties, and cultural institutions, this decentralized movement encourages the organization of exhibitions, performances, and public events that reflect the urgency of the moment. Participants are invited to contribute creative acts of resistance—ranging from gallery shows and concerts to classroom discussions and pop-up performances—under the shared banner of Fall of Freedom. By fostering solidarity and amplifying diverse voices, the initiative seeks to reaffirm the vital role of the arts in defending democracy and confronting injustice.
